Storm chasing is no longer a pursuit confined to the tornado-swept plains of North America. Across Europe, a thriving community of chasers, photographers, and severe weather enthusiasts has taken root — from the supercell-prone valleys of northern Italy to the waterspout-rich coastlines of Croatia and Greece, and from the stormy Atlantic fringe of France to the thunderstruck flatlands of Poland.
Slovenia’s Marko Korošec is widely regarded as the continent’s benchmark chaser, while names like Germany’s Jonas Piontek and the Dutch duo of Gijs de Reijke and Rick Bekker have helped build a pan-European network of sky-watchers who share one defining habit: they drive towards the storm.
